Cake Sale and Own Clothes Day

Just to remind you, on Friday 1st December our school council team have organised a cake sale and an own clothes day. The school council team are raising money towards an Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme that they will be taking part in during the spring term.

Please can you make your £1 donation for the own clothes day via the schools online cashless payment system, which will be available from today.

The cake sale will take place in the school hall on Friday 1st December and we would like to welcome you into school from 3pm to buy cakes in order to support our school council team in their fundraising activities. All children will also have an opportunity to buy some cakes during break time if you would like to send them with tuck money.

Anti-Bullying Poster Competition Results

During our anti-bullying fortnight, all children had an opportunity to design an anti-bullying poster. In each class, children then voted for a favourite poster to represent their class for the final vote. The winning posters from each class were then displayed for all staff to vote for a favourite poster from lower school and upper school. We were so impressed with the effort that had been put into all posters and it was so hard to choose just two winners. But in every competition there has to be a winner! All 9 class winners received a book mark from our book fair and the two winning children received a lovely book chosen from our book fair. A huge well done to all children for your efforts, the posters were fantastic and they certainly showed your support for anti-bullying.

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Our school council team will be taking part in a personalised Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme during the Spring term.

The Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme is part of the charity the Diana Award. After receiving the training children will become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors for our school. In their role they will help to educate their peers on bullying, lead on anti-bullying campaigns, promote a culture which celebrates and tolerates difference and help keep their peers safe and happy in school.

The children would like to raise money for resources to support them in their role as anti-bullying ambassadors and have decided to organise a cake sale and an own clothes day. The cake sale and own clothes day will take place on Friday 1st December. We are asking that children donate £1 for the own clothes day and parents/carers will be invited into school from 3pm on the 1st December to buy some cakes in order to help us raise some money.

The children are very excited about the programme and are already being very proactive in raising awareness of bullying and the impact it can have.

On Monday 6th November they will be launching an anti-bullying poster competition and some of the school council team will be taking part in the anti-bullying assembly.
